USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) Physical Therapy logo

200927-N-SS900-1001 SAN DIEGO (Sep. 27, 2020) - A logo created for the physical therapy office aboard Nimitz-class nuclear aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). The logo’s purpose was to combine elements of Vinson’s logo with traditional symbolism of the medical profession in a modern, clean and professional design. It shares the same color scheme as Vinson’s “Gold Eagle” logo. The Vitruvian man is used to show that all points of the body should be taken care of and are important. The wings of the Vitruvian man represent a similarity between the graphic and ship’s “Gold Eagle” call sign. The caduceus behind the “Vinson V” is the representation of the medical department’s responsibility to the health of the ship’s personnel.
