SAN DIEGO (Sept. 24, 2020) This logo brands the 2020 planned incremental availability (PIA) of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). Half of the logo displays President Abraham Lincoln wearing a hardhat, superposed on a blueprint background, representing the industrial nature of PIA. The other half represents a penny on which President Lincoln is featured. The ship's motto, "Shall Not Perish," derived from the last line of President Lincoln's famed 1863 Gettysburg Address, is also featured.
