The digital art was created using Adobe Software and the focus of the art is Air Force civil engineers were on the ground in the countries surrounding Afghanistan to bed down troops involved in Operation Enduring Freedom and deployed into Afghanistan itself to build forward bases. Air Force civil engineers also were in place early in Southwest Asia building and maintaining forward bases needed to support Operation Iraqi Freedom. It was created in May 2017 and displayed on the Air Force Civil Engineer Center website to commemorate the AF 70th anniversary. (U.S. Air Force graphic by Greg Hand)
