Tomo Ni is a Japanese phrase for together. It encompasses everything U.S. service members in Japan stand for - Staying forward, faithful, and focused. As the Marines Corps' forward-deployed force in the Pacific, III Marine Expeditionary Force must be ready to fight now. III MEF has worked with the Japanese Self-Defense Forces on a wide range of military operations, including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, to ensure a free and open Indo-Pacific.
Currently headquartered in Okinawa, Japan, III MEF personnel are guests in Japan. We show respect for one another and work together. This continues III MEF's commitment to train, work, and fight alongside all our allies and partners.
