The second 67th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade Soldier Spotlight is Chief Warrant Officer 4 KC Sohl, a 915A automotive maintenance warrant officer. Chief Sohl was nominated for recognition due to his selfless service helping others in need. Sohl voluntarily assisted in two vehicle issues in the short time since the brigade arrived at Fort Hood for pre-deployment training. The first incident occurred as the unit was being transported to North Fort Hood upon initial arrival. Ten minutes into the drive, a red, steaming liquid began bubbling up from the floor boards. Steam and a noxious odor filled the front of the bus, causing the bus driver to pull over and those nearby to put their windows down for fresh air. Chief Sohl was quick to come to the aid of the confused and panicked bus driver, diagnosing the issue and advising the driver to turn off the bus to avoid further damage. The second incident occurred when a group of Soldiers were being escorted to the PT track for their designated one/hour time slot for the day. The escort Soldier was driving his personal vehicle, and Chief Sohl noticed one of his tires was completely flat. Sohl delayed his workout to help the Soldier install his spare tire to protect the vehicle from further damage. Chief Sohl is a great example of a Soldier putting the needs of others first.
