The 55th Wing transitioned all of its aircraft to the Lincoln Airport - home to the Nebraska National Guard - as work began on a runway replacement project at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. The crest honors and reflects the joint, military effort at the Lincoln airfield and was utilized at an event attended by wing leadership and Neb. Gov. Pete Ricketts where he symbolically proclaimed the new joint airfield Lincoln Air Force Base. The crest has since been used with several print and digital mediums to include service patched in both the scarlet and cream as well as the OCP colors. (U.S. Air Force graphic by Josh Plueger)
