210910-N-SS900-1001 SOUTH CHINA SEA (Sept. 10, 2021) A poster created to recognize the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in New York City, Sept. 11, 2001. The design’s purpose was to provide a remembrance of all the lives lost due to the events on 9/11. The World Trade Center (WTC) towers are blue and red, colors from our American flag to honor those who lost their lives during the attack. The names of the fallen make up the shape of the WTC. The background is comprised of a combination of blues, representing a news report, the fear during the attacks, the aftermath of the attacks. The line running throughout the design and along the base of the tower symbolizes the framework to continue forward. (U.S. Navy photo illustration by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Aaron T.
