This illustration was created to commemorate the 20-year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and the role the 55th Wing, at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., played on that historic day. President Bush landed on the Offutt runway en route to U.S. Strategic Command's underground command center around 4 p.m. that day. One, copy-written photo exists of that historic moment resulting in the need to create an original image to retell that part of the story was required. The stylized image recreates that landing on the Offutt runway complete with the 'Let's Roll' logo - born out of the last words from Todd Beamer on Flight 93 - and a newly-created 9/11 logo. The graphic was used on both social media and as the cover on the wing's internal digital magazine, The Warhawk. (U.S. Air Force graphic by Josh Plueger)
