The Charleston District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has maintained Charleston harbor — one of the nation’s 17 military-strategic ports and a key driver for the state’s economy — every year for more than 140 years. Today, due to the District’s continued deepening and maintenance, Charleston now welcomes some of the world’s largest ships.
