The Defense Logistics Agency celebrates its 60th anniversary on Oct 1, 2021. This commemoration presents DLA with an opportunity to promote its years of excellence, warfighter support and position as the nation’s combat support agency to employees, stakeholders, customers/potential customers and other DOD and federal agencies.
Symbolic Elements of the 60th Anniversary Defense Logistics Agency Emblem:
The American bald eagle, long associated with symbolism representing the United States of America and its military establishment, has been selected as an emblem of strength. The eagle is defending the United States, represented by the shield of thirteen pieces. The thirteen pieces are joined together by the blue chief, representing the U.S. Congress.
The device is a symbol of unity and common purpose; it alludes to the agency’s responsibility for the meeting of specific requirements of the Department of Defense, thereby emphasizing the role of the agency in the defense of the nation.
The 60th Anniversary text with wheat denotes the 60th year of operations for the Defense Logistics Agency.
The double-layer banner and slogan depict the year-long theme for DLA’s 60th anniversary.
The graphic is being used on various products created by DLA Public Affairs, such as videos, websites, fact sheets, briefing charts and signature blocks in emails. It is available for download on an internal site available to all DLA employees who are authorized to use this graphic for the one -year time period of the agency's anniversary.
