211009-N-YN807-1001 INDIAN OCEAN (Oct. 9, 2021) A divisional patch created to represent the S-8 supply division of Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). A sea serpent eating its own tail is pictured to represent infinity and the never-ending work the division performs daily. The serpent also forms a figure “8”, representing the S-8 division. The motto “Supply Never Stops” is shown to represent the division’s commitment to providing the crew of the ship with everything they need to do their jobs.
