Meet your Defender, U.S. Army Sgt. Josh Phillips is an infantryman assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he attended college and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design. Phillips joined the U.S. Army Reserves, and after two years, decided to go on active duty to pursue the long-term benefits and travel around the world. He’s been a noncommissioned officer for the past four years serving in various duty stations, including Ft. Bragg, Hawaii, Thailand, and Ft. Carson. He serves as a team leader and assistant gunner in Alpha Company. During his free time and with his experience in photography, he serves as training documentation for the unit.
