Army Criminal Investigation Division is proud to recognize Native American Heritage Month highlighting their spirit of service to their community and country.
Native Americans have served in every major military conflict since the Revolutionary War. Service continued at a high rate throughout the 20th century, in peacetime and in war. In fact, American Indians have the highest percentage of their people in Military Service than any other ethnic group in the United States.
According to the U.S. Department of State, there are more than 24,000 American Indian and Alaskan Native women and men on active duty, and more than 183,000 veterans identify as American Indian or Alaska Native.
