220929-N-DP708-2001– A layout celebrating the commissioning to ensign of Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 1st Class Kevin Mccullum, who, after 12 years of distinguished service, was selected for the Limited Duty Officer Program in September 2022 aboard Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). The concept is to show fire burning away a first class petty officer class emblem and transforming it into the officer crest. It is meant to represent the many trials that Ensign Mccullum had to face in order to be selected for a commission.
