220225-N-YN807-1001 NORTH ISLAND (Feb. 25, 2022) A poster created to encapsulate the West Pacific 2021-2022 deployment on the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). The Vinson is pictured in the center of the graphic, as it was the center of Carrier Strike Group One (CSG-1). Each of the countries who worked alongside throughout the deployment are represented around the carrier with elements of their flags depicted. In each corner of the graphic are the port visits made by the Vinson (San Diego, Yokosuka, Japan, and two port visits to Guam). The graphic is set in an art nouveau style, a historical art movement meant to unify. The USS Carl Vinson was set out for freedom of navigation and to unify and work alongside our allies, as represented in the used style and the doves seen above the Vinson.
