This mission graphic was designed for the 2d Systems Operations Squadron, with the 557th Weather Wing, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. The 2 SYOS operates and maintains the U.S. Air Force’s strategic weather high performance computing center and is geographically tethered to the 557 WW Offutt headquarters and the host community of Omaha, Neb. The poster pulls the mission and location together with a computer-based aesthetic, complete with a digitized landscape leading the 557th HQ building with the Omaha skyline in the background. The colors used in the poster are all pulled from the squadron’s crest. The squadron’s ghost mascot overseas the entirety of the layout. Custom renderings of the headquarters building along with the landscape were designed in Adobe Illustrator while finally assembly of the poster was finished in Adobe Photoshop. The branding campaign didn’t stop with print but also digital mediums to include digital wallpapers and command slides all meant to bring a sense of pride and ownership to the team operating the weather computer system.
