This cover design was created for the 55th Wing Public Affairs Office's Community Engagement section at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. Sept. 29, 2023. The cover visually touches on the history of the wing from being a U.S. Army fort (Fort Crook), a balloon reconnaissance squadron, a command and control base, as well one of the first air mail lightlines in Omaha, and home to the Martin Bomber Company that build and outfitted the Enola Gay and Bockscar bombers during World War II. The program is handed out on bus tours of the base to educate the host communities of eastern Nebraska about both the mission and history of their local base. (U.S. Air Force graphic by Josh Plueger)
