The Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., campus traces its geographic roots to Fort Crook in the late 1890s to laying its first airstrip in 1924, to transition to an airfield. From single prop air mail planes to the intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance aircraft of the 55th Wing, Offutt Field has been a civilian and military aviation fixture in its host town of Bellevue, Neb. The 100-year logo will be used in a multifaceted branding campaign throughout the 2024 centennial to include digital, print, embroidery, etc. The aesthetic of the logo is derived from old air mail stamps and uses the propeller of the Boeing 40 and air mail globe to create the "zeros"; in the logo while other elements - commemorating the cold war era of Strategic Air Command and the 55th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing -add more encompassing visual elements.
