Sailors aboard USS Nimitz (CVN 68) participated in a "crossing the line" ceremony, March 12, 2023, cleansing the ship of its "pollywogs." The ceremony included breakfast without the use of arms, obstacle courses, vigorous physical exercise, and a final appearance by King Neptune and his royal court to be bestowed the title of "trusty shellback." This is a belt buckle and coin design created for the 2023 Deployment Shellback Ceremony aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68).
