The Marine Corps celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month, which honors the contributions, legacy, and history of Hispanic Americans, and especially those who have contributed greatly to the success and rich warfighting heritage of our Corps. From Pfc. Harold Gonsalves, who received the Medal of Honor for sacrificing his life by throwing himself on top of a grenade during WWII, to Cpl. Ramona Valdez, who was KIA while serving in the Iraq War, to the thousands of Hispanic Marines serving in our ranks today, they have an honored legacy in the Marine Corps and in American history.
