Headquartered in Okinawa, Japan, III MEF is a robust and expeditionary force, comprised of major subordinate unit commands, including III MEF Information Group, 3d Marine Division, 3d Marine Logistics Group, and 1st Marine Aircraft Wing. The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit is also a part of III MEF, as well as Marine Rotational Force – Darwin.
