Smith Jr., former I Marine Expeditionary Force commanding general, at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Sept. 29, 2023. Lt. Gen. Smith retired after 38 years of faithful service. This publication was used to guide the retirement ceremony participants through the event to enhance the participants’ understanding and engagement.
