This graphic illustration highlights the “land” domain the U.S. Marine Corps operates in, featuring the Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle, created April 1, 2024. The MRAP is designed specifically to withstand improvised explosive device attacks and ambushes. The United States Department of Defense developed the MRAP with a program that began in 2007 in response to the increased threat of IEDs during the Iraq War.
