Advancement for apprentice Sailors (E-1 to E-4) will shift on July 1, 2024, to be based on time in service. Sailors will advance to E-2 at 9 months, to E-3 at 18 months, and to E-4 at 30 months in service, if they haven’t already advanced through other paths.
