The Air Force Materiel Command honors the legacy of women in the Air Force with this Rosie the Riveter inspired 9 foot tall banner. The graphic depicts six women and a brief description of their accomplishments in the Air Force surrounding the iconic image of Rosie the Riveter. The US roundel was added behind Rosie and the background has a photo collage of women from the past and today working on multiple aircraft. The graphic was created in Adobe Photoshop on August 12, 2024 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, and intended for use by the AFMC historian, 88th Air Base Wing and all unit on the base. Additionally, the “Rosie the Riveter” painting by Norman Rockwell, published as a magazine cover for the Saturday Evening Post in 1943, is under copyright held by Mr. Rockwell's estate.
