U.S. Army Signal Corps Aviation Section, Capt. Hamilton Coolidge served as a pilot from 1916 – 1918 heroically gave his life on October 27, 1918, saving two fellow American pilots by leading them away from enemy fire. The graphic was made at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, Sep. 13, 2024, in the style of a postage stamp with a photo of Coolidge in a SPAD S.XIII French biplane fighter aircraft, with bells and verbiage to notify the JBLE community that chimes would be played on Sep. 15, 2024, in honor of his reburial in France.
