The Great American Smokeout is a day to encourage people to quit smoking. The event aims to help people make a plan to quit smoking, or to quit on the day of the event. The event also provides resources and support to help people quit and stay quit.
Smoking is the leading preventable cause of death and illness in the world, and quitting can improve health immediately and over the long term. Counseling and medications can double or triple the chances of quitting successfully. If you or someone you know would like to quit smoking, reach out to your primary care team at 270-798-4677 or through the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal to see what options may be available.
