The commander of the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, sends out a monthly ‘Command Blast’ highlighting command focus areas of people, programs, and partnerships. This cover graphic is a Halloween theme with North Dakota’s Garrison Spillway as a prominent feature. A ghost bison – the Omaha District’s mascot, sit atop of the spillway while one of the gates feeds into a smoky pool of water at the base. Jack-o-lanterns display both the USACE castle and Army Star. The spillway and ghost bison were created in Adobe Illustrator while finishing touches on cement texture and lighting effects were finalized in Adobe Photoshop. The cover and command blast are for internal customer, but the cover graphic is also used in social media platforms. (U.S. Army graphic by Josh Plueger).
