During BTH2018, construction projects consisted of building two schools from-the-ground-up, plus extensions to two existing schools and an extension to the Zacatecoluca (pronounced Za-kah-te-co-lou-kah) Health Clinic in the county of La Paz.
BTH2018 also conducted Medical Readiness Training Exercises (MEDRETEs - pronounced Med-Rets) providing medical services to over 15,000 citizens of El Salvador to include; optometry, dental, pediatric, women's health, pharmaceutical care and some surgeries.
BTH is an annual U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) and Army South (ARSOUTH) exercise, led this year by the Puerto Rico National Guard's Combined Joint Task Force - Hope.
