The Equal Employment Opportunity Strategy and Integration office of the 88th Air Base Wing at Wright-Patterson AFB seeks volunteers to support the Black History Month special observance. The photo illustration was created on December 18, 2024 using colors derived from the Pan-African flag, and periwinkle flowers which are often brought to the graves of the enslaved. Prominent figures include General Benjamin O. Davis Jr., first brigadier general of the first African-American brigadier general of the United States Air Force and Lieutenant Willa Brown, who's many achievements include being the first African American woman to hold a pilot license in the U.S. (U.S. Air Force photo illustration by Wilbur Wood)
