This photo illustration commemorating the 57th anniversary of the Tet Offensive was created in Okinawa, Japan, Jan. 30, 2025. The 3d Marine Division played a significant support role during the Tet Offensive from Jan. 30 to March 3, 1968, during which they fought the North Vietnamese Army (NVA) and Viet Cong. The 3d Marine Division had responsibility over the protection of the Naval Support Activity, protecting the transfer of supplies to Phu Bai and Hue City, then they moved their forces from Phu Bai to Quang Tri in March 1968. During that month, Marine and allied trucks made over 2,000 resupply runs between Phu Bai and Quang Tri. The NVA began using artillery and mortar bombardment for weeks, but U.S. Marines continued to adjust and push enemy forces back. This graphic was designed using photo layering and blending on Adobe Photoshop. (U.S. Marine Corps photo illustration by Lance Cpl. Zainab E. Sink)
