If you were born after 1957, one dose of the measles vaccine is usually enough for protection. However, certain adults may need two doses, especially if they are at higher risk of exposure.
You may need two doses if you:
• Are a student at a post-high school institution
• Work in healthcare
• Travel internationally
• Care for or are around immunocompromised individuals
• Live with HIV (without severe immunosuppression)
• Are in an area experiencing a measles outbreak
