A promotional poster for African Lion 25 (AL25), the largest annual military exercise in Africa, led by U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM). From April 14 to May 23, 2025, more than 10,000 troops from 41 nations — including 7 NATO allies — will train together across Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, and Tunisia. AL25 sharpens lethality, strengthens readiness, and restores the warrior ethos through complex, multi-domain operations alongside African partners and allies.
The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army's Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing rapidly deployable forces to the United States European, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility. Forward deployed across Italy and Germany, the brigade routinely trains alongside NATO allies and partners to build partnerships and strengthen the alliance.
