AFN Okinawa serves more than 55,000 DoD employees and their families through TV, radio and social media. AFN Okinawa has two radio stations; Wave 89.1FM and Surf 648AM. This is a revamped logo brands the FM station. This logo is being used for multimedia products, memorabilia and social media content.
1. The two Shisa dogs on the left and right are exclusive to Okinawa. The Shisa with the open mouth, the male, is to scare away evil spirits, while the closed-mouthed female Shisa keeps in the good luck.
2. The Kanji characters on the top left mean Okinawa
3. The microphone with ON AIR represents AFN Okinawa as a radio station
4. The pattern within the letters is a microphone texture
