If the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division hailed from far away galaxy instead of Fort Drum, New York, Commando Soldiers might find themselves deployed to different planets across the galaxy.
Meanwhile on earth, the Commandos are operating in three countries around the world during "May the 4th," 2019. About half of the Commando brigade is deployed as Task Force Courage, while the rear elements comprise Task Force Honor.
Since October 2018, Task Force Courage has been deployed in support of two separate missions in Afghanistan and Kosovo. Task Force Honor continues facilitating the brigade's deployed element from Fort Drum, while contributing to 10th MTN DIV readiness as a whole through a series of back-to-back missions.
The Task Force Courage lineup includes "Wolverines" of the 1st Squadron, 89th Cavalry Regiment, "Polar Bears" of the 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, "Golden Dragons" of the 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, and "Catamounts" of the 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment.
Holding down the rear, Task Force Honor includes "Mountain Sappers" of the 41st Engineer Battalion, "Allons" of the 2nd Battalion, 15th Field Artillery Regiment, and "Providers" of the 210th Brigade Support Battalion. (U.S. Army photo illustration by Staff Sgt. Paige Behringer)
