Logo created for the Threat Visualization production team located at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center | Special Missions Division, WPAFB, OH. The image was designed with a minimalist approach in describing the team’s mission and the visual products created. First is the magenta color of the overall design, representing a creative, modern and innovative approach to visual storytelling. Second is the “V” portion of the design, which holds three specific meanings within the logo; number one, the “V” represents the “viz” portion of Threat Visualization, number two, the shading at the base of the “V” representing the three-dimensional aspects of the products being produced and number three, the “V” breaking of the circle line as a visual depiction of the team’s ability to break the traditional reporting method boundaries to deliver clear and impactful products for worldwide dissemination. Third, the silhouette of the classic “cannon ball” bomb, which represents the multiple threats throughout various domains of analytical interest in an imaginative fashion. Finally, the slogan “More Than Cartoons” that stems back to the inception of the Threat Visualization team. Initially, leadership described the products being created as “cartoons”, since they were being animated by artists and attached to reports as visual depictions of the intelligence, subsequently leading to the “cannon ball” bomb being adopted as the unofficial team icon.
