Katherine Hammack, assistant secretary of the Army for installations, energy and environment, congratulates Pfc. Solomon Okonkwo on becoming a naturalized American citizen at the Freedom Performing Arts Center, Aug. 15. Seven soldiers, an airman and two military spouses, from eight countries - including Mexico, Germany, Panama, Belize, St. Lucia, Guyana, Nigeria and the Philippines - took the oath of allegiance. The ceremony is held monthly at Fort Carson so soldiers and their families don't have to travel to Denver.
