Capt. Ronald Oswald, commanding officer of the Navy Operational Support Center Ventura County, speaks of the bond between past and present military to a crowd of veterans as a part of the Spirit of '45 celebration. Full-time support and Navy Reserve sailors visited the facility to spend time with veterans and share their military experiences. Organized by VITAS Innovative Hospice Care and the Veteran’s Home of Ventura, the event gave younger military a chance to share stories with their predecessors.
