Role-players crowd outside a base of operations during a mission rehearsal exercise here, Aug. 20, 2013. Marines serving with Alpha Company, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, seized the house during a night raid and detained several possible enemy combatants. The role-players add more realism to the training exercise as Marines have to account for their reactions during any mission. An evaluator followed each squad of Marines and assessed their various skills including tactics, coordination and execution during the mission.
