    Airman Thomas Bundy, aviation boatswain's mate, supervises Sailors taking part in a foreign object debris walkdown in the hangar bay of the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk. Walkdowns are conducted to remove trash that can damage aircraft engines if ingested. Sailors walk the length of the hangar bay in rows, picking up any loose objects on the deck three times a day. Kitty Hawk is returning to the United States for decommissioning after 47 years of service. The ship will be replaced by the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS George Washington later this summer.
