KAHUKU TRAINING AREA, Hawaii — Lance Cpl, Jacob Woods, a rifleman with third platoon, Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, prepares to role-play as opposing forces during an assault and extraction training exercise at a Military Operations in Urban Terrain facility at Kahuku Trainina Area, Oct. 1, 2013. Marines participating in the exercise fired their rifles using simunition rounds, which illustrated the importance of not being shot on the battlefield. SIM rounds look like actual ammunition but contain paintball pellets instead of bullets. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Matthew Bragg)
