Secretary of the Army John McHugh presents former Army Capt. William Swenson with a framed photo and Medal of Honor citation as Army Chief of Staff Gen. Raymond T. Odierno and Sgt. Maj. of the Army Raymond F. Chandler III stand by during his induction to the Hall of Heroes at the Pentagon in Washington, Oct. 16, 2013. Swenson was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions during the Battle of Ganjagal in Kunar province, Afghanistan, Sept. 8, 2009. Swenson was leading a group of Afghan Border Police in support of the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division at the time of the battle.
