Clair off the shore of Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich., Feb. 6, 2013. Located at Selfridge, Coast Guard Air Station Detroit provides airborne search and rescue capabilities to a about half of the Great Lakes surface area. Station personnel are trained and qualified to operate in the full range of weather conditions found in the Great Lakes region, including cold weather operations in the winter months.
