Naval officers hold a press conference at Aksaz Naval Base before the upcoming Dogu Akdeniz exercises. The two-week exercise is hosted by Commander, Turkish Fleet, and includes forces from the Turkish Coast Guard, Turkish Air Force, ships from Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG 2) and the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Stout (DDG 55). Stout is on a scheduled deployment supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility.
