HOUSTON -- Larry Rehn (left) studies a suggested flight plan from Lt. Col. Brian Childes (center) while 2nd Lt. Don Hunt (right), looks where his mission will take him. Civil Air Patrol pilots from across the nation came to Houston to support the assessment of Hurricane Rita's impact. This was the second day of flight operations after the Texas CAP was requested to begin operations in Houston. By the end of Sept. 26, they completed 50 sorties, providing photo reconnaissance of potential damage, oil spills, traffic congestion, flood assessment and live multispectral imagery for state and federal agencies. The CAP is a volunteer organization that augments and enhances a variety of operations. (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt. Lance Cheung)
