Gen. Kiyohumi Iwata, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force chief of staff, was given a tour and briefing of the Brig. Gen. Crawford F. Sams U.S. Army Health Clinic by its commander, Col. Vivian Hutson, during a visit there Nov. 19. The clinic serves the soldiers, U.S. civilians and their families in the Camp Zama community in providing high quality and compassionate medical care. As the JGSDF increases their participation in peace keeping operation and humanitarian assistance / disaster relief, they want to be ready to address post-traumatic stress disorder. The United States Army Japan medical team shared the Army’s lessons learned and treatment approaches with Iwata and his staff. (Photo by Kiyoshi Tokeshi)
