Soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment, cut a cake in Gaziantep, Turkey, at a ceremony marking the end of their one-year deployment, Nov. 22. The Fort Sill, Okla.,-based unit had been providing air defense capabilities to the region to counter potential ballistic missile threats. Patriot missile batteries from NATO partners Germany and The Netherlands had also joined the U.S. and Turkish forces in helping to safeguard Turkish citizens and provide stability to the region.
