Dani Wexelman of Veterans United Network coordinates a Google+ Hangout at the 72nd Pearl Harbor Day Commemoration Ceremony at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center. Navy and National Park Service leaders, World War II veterans and private citizens participated in the nation-wide broadcast which also trended on Twitter at #PearlHarborDay2013. More than 2,500 people attended the commemoration ceremony in person. This year’s commemoration theme, “Sound the Alarm,” examines how thousands of Americans answered the call to duty in the wake of the attack.
