Vice Adm. Judge Advocate General Bruce MacDonald is pinned by his wife, Karen, during a promotion ceremony at the Pentagon. MacDonald is the first JAG Vice Admiral in the Navy. The 2008 National Defense Authorization Act advanced the position of the JAG in the Navy, Army, and Air Force to the grade of a three-star general or flag officer.
