An Army Reserve Civil Affairs Soldier assigned to the U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (Airborne) has been awarded the Department of State's prestigious Superior Honor Award, Aug. 5, 2008, at Meadows Parade Field. Capt. Laura Peters, a brigade liaison officer for a provincial reconstruction team in Iraq, was honored for conducting exemplary civil affairs actions and interagency operations in Samara and Tikrit while working concurrently with the Department of State. Only a few of military personnel have been awarded the SHA.
